Allison Got Her Life Back

“I cannot fully express my gratitude for having found Jarrett. Working out has always been a passion and my way of dealing with anxiety. For the past few years, an old injury kept flaring up and getting progressively worse. At first, I got migraines from lifting over my head, but it kept progressing to where I couldn't even run without triggering a migraine. I couldn't do what I loved and really needed (during a global pandemic!), and I was in pain and cranky too often with my young kids.

I was referred to Jarrett, and it was an almost immediate game-changer. He has helped me manage and work around the pain in a few months when literally years of PT never did more than provide temporary relief. I am back to doing what I love, in a much smarter way, and I am once again able to go hiking and on long bike rides with my kids without being afraid of getting a migraine. Forever grateful. And as an added bonus, my husband has a newfound appreciation for my backside ;)”

Alison came to us after having spent years suffering from a neck injury that left her unable to workout, or even carry a bag, without excruciating pain. Not only did it prevent her from blowing off steam, but she was growing more concerned with how it affected her as a mother.

She was sent to us by a local doctor who had been treating with manual therapy and injections, but thought that getting stronger in a safe, progressive way would help her.

And it did.

Allison signed up for Personal Training and Massage Therapy with Jarrett. After a detailed evaluation and detailed progress tracking, Jarrett was able to get her on a plan to slowly strengthen her neck and help teach her how to be responsive to her own symptoms.

It was a slow start, but Allison gained more and more momentum. Slowly she got stronger, more resilient and even overcame the fear of many activities that used to cripple her.

As her body and her mindset got stronger, Allison wanted to push herself more and more. Soon, the sessions became less therapeutic for the injury, and more therapeutic for Allison as she was finally able to unleash the beast and pursue her actual fitness.

Allison started throwing around weights like the injury had never even happened. Overhead press, sandbag cleans, medicine ball slams. The world was her oyster.

Best of all, Allison no longer had the fear and anxiety that plagued her in regard to being able to physically show up for her kids. She was now strong enough to even pull them from a freezing river and carry them to warmth. As you can see in her video below.

We’re proud to say that Allison was able to continue her fitness journey on her own with confidence. After all, our goal isn’t just to train someone in the moment, but to teach them how to feed and maintain their body for the rest of their life.
